My name is Lesley Petersen and I recently moved from Springfield to teach art here at Donovan. I graduated from SIU-Edwardsville with a Bachelor’s degree in Art Education.  I have taught art in many schools around the Sangamon Country area in every grade. This is my first full-time teaching opportunity and I couldn’t be more excited! I look forward to getting to know all the wonderfully talented students in this district and bring more art to the community. The areas of art I like to practice are drawing and textiles.  If you have any questions about what we are doing in the classroom or any ideas art wise for the community my door is always open. 

It took me 4 years to paint like Raphael, but a life time to paint like a child.

My name is Brittany Harris and I recently moved into Donovan from Michigan. I graduated from Olivet Nazarene University this spring with a Bachelor of Music degree and am very excited to begin my teaching career in such a great school district!  When I’m not in the classroom, I enjoy playing my French horn in community ensembles and digging into a good book.
