Mrs. Tricia Bianchetta
Donovan Elementary School Principal

E-mail Mrs. Bianchetta

Mrs. Bianchetta has been in education for 26 years. 2009-2010 marks her fifth year as the Donovan Elementary School Principal.

Parents,

As we begin the 2009-2010 school year, I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of Donovan Elementary.  We are working hard under increasing pressure to provide a quality education for your children.  I would like to encourage you to be a partner in your child’s education. There’s one simple- but critical- thing you need to do: Commit to staying involved in your child’s education.  Don’t forget: Your child will have dozens of terrific teachers over the years, but you will always be his/her most important teacher.

To become a partner in your child’s education:
o  Volunteer in class. Participate however- and whenever-you can.
o  Attend parent-teacher conferences and Family Reading Night.
o  Read every handout and paper your child brings home.
o  Make school a priority. Schedule appointments and vacations outside of school hours.
o  Expect your child to succeed in school. Children try hard to  meet their parents’ expectations.
o Respect homework. Periodically check with your child as he  works. Show him that you take it seriously.
o  Speak up. If there’s a problem at school, talk to your child’s teacher immediately. Work together on finding a solution.
o  Show and tell your child often that you love him/her.
o  Celebrate! Your child is learning more every day!

Remember, You’re not only your child’s first teacher, you’re also a partner in his education- both in the classroom and at home.

Thanks again for your support of education and I wish you and your child the very best this school year.

Children have never been very good at listening to their elders, but they have never failed to imitate them"
